Forum Post: Creating a dependency based the content of a field

I'm new to this, so please bear with me . . . I have a field called "Disqualify" - it's a simple checkbox. I have another field called "Disqualify Reason" - it's a pull-down field that contains choices regarding why the Lead was checked as disqualified. My objective is to make the "Disqualify Reason" a required field if the "Disqualify" checkbox is checked on the Lead form. Through my eyes, this seems like a pretty simple thing to do, but the customization piece of CRM doesn't appear to be among the most intuitively friendly interface compared with other applications i've administered (namely Serena Business Manager). In looking through some of the existing similar questions on this forum, I'm seeing a lot of answers that indicate that javascript is needed for something like this. Does my objective seem so complex that that javascript would be needed? Or is there a simple way to accomplish this without it? Thanks
