Hi Nick, Do you (or an administrator) get the results if same filter criteria is selected? Users should not be able to select an entity in advance find if they dont have read permissions so it might not be a security issue. As Kylie has suggested, try changing the search criteria to pickup few results e.g. just search for records created in the last hour. Advance find normally shows an error for SQL timeout. You can also check the event viewer on the CRM servers for MSCRMPlatform event id: 24066 to find out the sql timeout events and event id: 17972 showing how much time it has taken to execute the timed out SQL and it will also be logging the SQL statement in that event.
