Blog Post: Getting Started with the Unified Service Desk at MVP Days

Last week, I gave a presentation on Getting Started with the Unified Service Desk at MVPDays in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.  I had never attended or presented at MVPDays but found it to be a great to learn a great deal as well as a great presenting opportunity.  The session was geared towards a 100 level audience and if you have experience with Dynamics CRM it wasn’t a great leap. If there is anything to take away from the presentation it’s that you don’t need to have an extensive development background to get started.  Of all my demos combined, probably 20% involved coding, the rest was configuration within the USD Framework of Dynamics CRM.  As with most things, it’s great to have a sandbox, play with it, break it and figure out what you should be doing as you march on towards implementation. It should be noted, that all information within the presentation are my own views and not necessarily endorsed as the defacto standards on USD development but based on my own experience. On a side-note, I think I won the award for the longest session title.
