Forum Post: CRM 2015 Phone call activities not linked to a Case

When creating a new phone call activity in CRM 2015 (on premise) via quick create or the Outlook client, we have noticed a problem in that even after setting the "Regarding Object" field to a Case and saving the phone call record, that phone call activity never shows up in the activity area of the linked case. It seems to be just a free floating activity that isn't linked to any record. When the phone call is closed, you can not edit it after the fact as it is marked read only. The phone call record still shows the selected case in the Regarding Object field. If you create a phone call activity using the "Add Phone Call" item within the Social Pane area of the Case record, it does get linked and shows up, but you cannot enter a duration for the time spent on the phone call which is well documented in other Q&A posts. Please advise if anyone has a workaround. Thank you! Victor
