Forum Post: RE: Looking for a smooth user experience when using Azure B2C in Dynamics Portal

Hi Nicholas, Thanks for your comment. I have customized the sign in/sign up page. But because I can only use one user flow with Azure, I have to include the "Register now" link in this page as well. And when other (not invited) people enter the page, they also see this "Register now" button, what makes it confusing. The project board for my project unfortunately decided to use the local login for both websites. And that one is deprecated, I know. But they don't see the Azure B2C login as a good alternative yet.... Thanks again, Elowy.

Blog Post: How to Correctly Deploy a Power Apps Component Framework Custom Control

$

When deploying a Custom Control, I noticed that the Custom Control was not updating from the previous version. I struggled to work out why this wasn’t overwriting the previous version of the Custom Control, so I was removing the dependencies and deleting it, then re-deploying the Custom Control each time I wanted to update it. I worked out a few neat tips on deploying the Custom Control and thought I’d pass the knowledge on! Firstly, I’ll give you a quick run down on how to build and deploy the Custom Control for the first time. Commands to Build the Custom Control Firstly, we’ll briefly go over how to build a Custom Control so that you can deploy it to your Dynamics 365 environment. You’ll want to run your commands from the below application: Run these commands from your Custom Control file directory, for example my folder is under the file directory C:\Users\adam\Documents\AdamsPCF so I type the below command: This directs your CMD line to the component you’re wanting to deploy. Here we run the command mkdir , in this example my Custom Control is called ‘ColourInput’ so I replace with ‘ColourInput’. Then we type the command ‘cd . The solution name will be the name of your Custom Control, so name this wisely. Once we’re in the solution folder we run the following commands which build and create the ZIP file which you then import into your Dynamics 365 environment. pac solution init --publisherName --customizationPrefix pac solution add-reference --path ".." msbuild /t:restore msbuild In your solution folder, go to bin/debug and you should see your .ZIP file here as shown below Updating the Custom Control Next time you’d like to deploy your Custom Control simply go to the ControlManifest.Input.Xml and increment the version number, this is crucial when deploying the Custom Control as this will solve the issue where the Custom Control doesn’t overwrite the previous version. This is shown below: You can see the version number is 0.0.1, the initial number was 0.0.0 so this overwrites the previous version. Now we simply run the following commands from the solution folder: msbuild /t:restore msbuild Then you can deploy the solution to Dynamics 365 to update your Custom Control. Summary The Microsoft documentation isn’t entirely clear and there may be some people out there who missed these crucial steps just like I did. You can read Microsoft’s documentation here . I hope this helps others who are venturing into the world of Custom Controls.

For CRM online customers the Data export service is supposed to be an alternative to direct CRM database access, however based on any personal feedback how reliable do people think this is as data replication latency appears to vary wildly from a few mins to a couple of hours. If we plan to use this data after a large data load when would we know that the process of replication is complete to enable us to run automated reports on the data ?

Hello. I have a small question. I think this has worked before but now it doesen't. I have a role for a sales person, On account it has Assign set to "user" When this is set the "Assign" button is removed on accounts that the user is not the owener of. But the user can still change owner on accounts he don't own from the "Owner" at the top right (Unified interface) How can I prevent that? Sholdn't that be prevented by the role already?

This isn't the exact same but it gives you a place to start Signature verification failed due to invalid signature. Check out the resolution outlined at https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/active-directory/application-sign-in-problem-federated-sso-gallery . If the issue persists, contact the application owner or application administrator.

Blog Post: The Microsoft Partner Competency Requirements Changed (Again). Here is What Will Impact your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certification Journey.

Microsoft has been quite active on the certifications front and therefore, these changes need to be reflected in the Microsoft Partner Competency for Business Applications. Here is what you need to know. Introduction of Partner Contribution Indicators (PCI) Instead of being assessed by threshold for each criteria, there are now certain accomplishments that can give you points. Microsoft Partners can get up to 100 points overall. Out of those, up to 35 can be obtained via having employees of a Microsoft Partner certified on Microsoft Dynamics 365. In order to obtain the silver competency, a Microsoft Partner must have a PCI score of 60 or higher. For the gold competency, the PCI score requires increases to 80. Another quirkiness was introduced. Traditionally, the certifications-related criteria were essentially to have a certain number of employees pass a particular exam. Now, on top of those, Microsoft Partners can get up to 15 points for the growth in numbers of certified on Microsoft Dynamics 365 to their team after March 31, 2020, whether by having non-certified employees becoming certified or by poaching certified employees from other Microsoft Partners or end-users. Why is this so important? As per the 2019-2020 Nigel Frank International Salary Survey , 34% of Microsoft Dynamics 365 professionals have up-to-date certifications. The number most likely went down significantly since MB2-7XX certifications were retired since the survey was published. Moreover, 50% of professionals in the ecosystem work for a Microsoft Partner. As you can see, there is a massive gap between the number of certified professionals and the number of certified professionals Microsoft Partners need. How is Your Certification Journey Affected At the moment, here is what the Microsoft Partner Competencies work. 1 point is awarded per person holding a Functional Consultant Associate certification. You need to get at least one. Moreover, if you can get the Functional Consultant Associate certification and the Developer Associate certification. You can get 2 points if you get both. In practice, it might be practical for you to have multiple Functional Consultant Associate certifications, especially if you work for a Microsoft Partner or want to work for one. The projects will be varied and need their staff to know multiple apps. In the future, I predict that many people in the end-user community will ask Microsoft to reduce the number of points related to Functional Consultant growth, because it simply gives an incentive to Microsoft Partners to poach certified employees from end-users. Another future addition will be the addition of the new Solution Architect certifications. I would not be surprised if the number of points for the growth in Functional Consultant Associates is reduced to 10 to allocate 5 points to people holding the Solution Architect certification. If you are certified, congratulations! Your certifications will be even more valuable on April 1, 2020. If you have both the Functional Consultant Associate certification and the Developer Associate certification, you could (technically) count for 3 points, which could make the difference between getting a certain level of partner competency or not.

We (thought) we successfully configured our emailing details (profile, mailboxes, approved mailboxes/users, ran tests and successfully sent/received test messages). BUT whenever our users create and send individual emails from CRM the messages remain in a pending send status. Environment: Microsoft CRM 2015 on-premise running in an Azure Virtual Machine Microsoft Exchange Online using an account to impersonate users when sending messages through Exchange (server side sync) We have: verified VM can see Exchange Online Verified profile, mailbox, approves, more … all sees ok and passes the test. Thoughts or suggestions welcome

Oh, I'm sorry I have only access to this particular environment. I spent hours in Google and this forum before writing here. I found nothing. It is quite clear to me however that the Workflow does not really run real-time when launched from the Unified Interface. The default app shows a growing process bar when executing the workflow while the Unified Interface doesn't. I get a similar result if I change the Workflow from a real-time process to a background process and then run it in the old default app.

Hi All, As per client requirement, I made a custom button which is used to resolve the case record. But anyhow Onsave Event scripts are not working through the custom button. Even I write a statement/line to save the form first as the OOTB Resolve button did but nothing happens. It saves the form but did not execute the Onsave event scripts. May I know what is the reason or Is there something that I am missing? Thanks in advance!
