Forum Post: Using Power Automate/Flow in D365 (UCI Online) instead of Process/Workflow

As you are all aware by now, MS recommends the use of Flow/Power Automate instead of the OOTB Process/Workflow. In the example (image above) is a on demand process workflow. The workflow is in context of an Entity called Plan. If I was to convert this process workflow as Power Automate/Flow, how am I going to pass on the Plan context to it? I know that in the actual Plan main form, the Flow menu is present. So how is the entity context established to the Power Automate/Flow? Thanks a2z

Hi a2z, From your screenshot and as per my understanding, it seems that your workflow is running on Action Item entity, and it will do update operation on the related Plan entity based on current type and status fields of selected Action Item entity. So the plan would be a lookup field on Action Item? (Such as Contact -> Company Name) -- Starts when type workflow in Flow: As one of my existing flow as example, it'll send admin an email when a contact is created: You can add trigger tile at flow start point,(1) then entity context will be available in an OOB pop-up menu,(2) then just click the specific field you want and it will be populdated to another action tile content.(3) -- On-demand type workflow in Flow: For how to build an on-demand type flow and add it into CRM Flow button, please read article below as reference: https://www.crmsoftwareblog.com/2019/11/on-demand-microsoft-flow-for-dynamics-365-and-powerapps/ Regards, Clofly

Blog Post: How CRM Can Help Banks Expand Customer Relationships

Banks and credit unions typically put a lot of effort into acquiring new customers. Yet it’s equally important to work with existing customers to reach for a larger share of their financial business – from checking and retirement accounts to products and services such as investments, insurance, mortgages, and home equity loans. According to a J.D. Powers study, 1 “Banks that are able to increase their share of deposits by 2 percentage points stand to gain $40.7 million in deposits per 100,000 customers.” How can banks build customer loyalty and expand the relationships? During each customer interaction, representatives need to be flexible, thorough, and willing to spend as much time as needed to consider customer needs, recommend suitable products, explain the details, and respond to questions. Benefits of an effective CRM system A well-designed CRM system, such as the combination of the Microsoft Dynamics™ 365 solution and Crowe CRM for Banking, should enable employees to: Access complete customer profiles. Employees should be able to see, at a glance, which services a customer is using as well as other key information about the customer’s relationship with the bank. Review account history. Which accounts are active? Have any been closed? Has the customer refinanced or paid off a mortgage? Have employees discussed other products with the customer? Have employees suggested future interactions? Make personal connections and offer relevant services. Does the customer have college age children? Has beneficiary information changed due to a significant event such as marriage, birth, divorce, or death? Employees can ask these questions and save the answers in the CRM system so that other team members who interact with the customer can respond accordingly. Track key milestones. At the age of 59-1/2, for example, customers can begin withdrawing from their traditional IRA. At 70-1/2, they must begin withdrawing from that IRA. Alerts for these types of pivotal dates can enable employees to offer appropriate investment services. Crowe CRM for Banking Crowe works with hundreds of financial services organizations across the country, including about two-thirds of the top 100 U.S. banks. Crowe CRM for Banking , an add-on solution powered by Dynamics 365, provides a 360-degree view of customer data as well as associated communications, interactions, operations, relationships, and service records. Crowe CRM for Banking enables organizations to integrate sales, marketing, and service functions so relationship managers and service staff can access and share complete information across departments, product lines, channels, or intermediaries. By using the many tools included in Crowe CRM for Banking and Dynamics 365, banks and credit unions can increase customer satisfaction, improve productivity, and expand customer relationships. Go to Settings > Email Configuration. Click Mailboxes. Select Active Mailboxes or perform an Advanced Find query to identify a list of mailboxes to update. Select > Deactivate.. If you want to restrict to process Email. Select account > and select Reject Email.. This operation will reject the email address of the selected Email. Hi partner, Sorry for my misunderstanding. I tired in classic client and this situation is really existed. But in UCI, it worked correctly. Microsoft now has nolonger support classic client, so it should be by design. I recommend you to use Dynamics 365 in UCI for better experience. Best Regards, Leo

Blog Post: Redirect to Login page always after logout in Dynamics 365 Portal

Introduction In this blog, we will see how we can navigate to login page after once we logout from any page in Microsoft Portal. Let’s look at the requirement where we want to provision the setup such as that the log-in page is redirected as soon the user logs out. Now, after logging again in the portal user is again redirected to the same page from where he logged out. There are only 3 steps, which we need to be followed to cater the above requirement in our Dynamics 365 Portal. Step 1 Go to the Web Template entity and search “header”. Step 2 Open the record and find the logout section in source control. Step 3 Update the href attribute of the anchor tag as below. From: – href=”{% if homeurl%}/{{ homeurl }}{% endif %}{{ website.sign_out_url_substitution }}” To: – href=”/Account/Login/LogOff?returnUrl={{ website.sign_out_url_substitution }}” We have just replaced the homeurl with /Account/Login/LogOff?returnUrl= Conclusion This is the most precise way to set the login page as default page after logout.

Hi Roma, Thanks for the reply. Since I'm not a developer, I was hoping to have this somehow arranged within the boundaries of Dynamics instead of coding. Do have have any idea if this is possible? Kind regards, Marcel

Hi Jitendra, That's because web resource itself is also an iframe element. You could run code below to get iframe content in web resource: var webResourceContent = parent.Xrm.Page.getControl("WebResource_name").getObject().contentDocument; var iframeWebsite = webResourceContent.getElementsByTagName("iframe")[0]; try { var innerDoc = iframeWebsite.contentDocument || iframeWebsite.contentWindow.document; } catch (e) { Xrm.Utility.alertDialog("An error has occured: " + e); } However, your "other website" might blocks external website to access its content from an iframe, such as bing.com Regards, Clofly

Forum Post: RE: minimum security role requirements to cancel and resolve a case

Hi Mike , I would suggest you to give CRUD permission to Case Resolution Entity as well and give it a try. A quick question here..... why are you assigning Custom Security Role when you can live with the OOTB Security Roles eg. Customer Service Representative. Possible Cause: You need to assign CRUD permissions to Case Resolution Entity, also any other related entities that your custom code or System is trying to create on Resolving a case. For ex. If you are sending any mail to the Customer who raised the case then you need to have the CRUD permission on Activity entities as well. I hope you got the some idea on the the error. How ever you can down load the Error log and share for more assistance if needed. Let us know if this works for you. Thanks and have a great day ahead. Abhishek Dhoriya

Xrm.Page is deprecated syntax and therefore will throw errors in UCI, if you change this to formContext it should change the behaviour as it is supported syntax.

Please try below code once: Xrm.Page.getControl("WebResource_commonIframe").getObject().contentDocument.getElementsByClassName("classnamehere")[0].value; or Xrm.Page.getControl("WebResource_commonIframe").getObject().contentDocument.getElementById("Elementidhere")[0].value; In my case "getElementsByClassName" its working fine.
